Deianira Huettenmoser
Dr. Huettenmoser first developed her passion for animals while raising Seeing Eye dogs in elementary school. While in high school she worked at her hometown veterinary clinic in north New Jersey which confirmed her love for animals and medicine. She continued to pursue her interests by majoring in Animal & Veterinary Science and minoring in Biological Sciences and German Studies at Clemson University, SC. In order to keep her technical skills sharp during the summer vacations, she worked as a veterinary nurse in a shelter surgical clinic. After receiving her Bachelor's degree she went on to earn her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania.
As if veterinary school wasn't busy enough, while working on her doctorate she worked as a veterinary nurse with the Penn Vet Referral Center for Animal Models of Human Genetic Disease and also with a local veterinary hospital. She has had various experiences during school such as performing free spays and neuters in the Dominican Republic as well as externing for the FDA which established her passion for public health. After graduating from veterinary school she remained in Philadelphia practicing as a wellness and urgent care doctor.
Being originally from North Jersey, Dr. Huettenmoser is thrilled to reconnect with friends and family and serve her home region. She spends her free time dancing, exercising, crafting, traveling, taking care of her plants, and spending time with her family.
