Dr. Charles Berk, who has been affiliated with DVM’s Battery Park and West Village Veterinary Hospitals since 2008, first worked with animals as a kennel assistant for his local veterinarian while attending high school in Valley Stream, NY.  “I always loved animals and knew that I wanted to be a veterinarian.”  After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, he attended Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  Following graduation, Dr. Berk was awarded an internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, NY.  Dr. Berk has special interests in pet health including animal dermatology and dentistry.  In addition to being one of the few USDA-accredited veterinarians in lower Manhattan, he is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the New York State Veterinary Medical Society and the Veterinary Medical Association of NYC.  Dr. Berk is glad to be pursuing his dream back near his family and hometown.  He has three cats (Wallace, Itty Bitty, and Mamma Cass) and one dog (Duncan) sharing the house with his wife (Victoria), daughter (Emma) and son (Harrison).
