At Battery Park Veterinary Hospital, we understand that pets don’t always follow a schedule. That’s why we’re proud to offer urgent care services to help with non-life-threatening but urgent health concerns.
Whether your pet is experiencing a sudden illness or injury, we are here to provide prompt, compassionate care.
🐾 Urgent Care Walk-In Hours:
Monday - Friday | 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
During these hours, our team is available to treat pets on a first come, first serve basis. However, we may prioritize cases based on medical urgency to ensure the best possible care for all animals.
Outside of these hours and during our normal business hours, we can try to accommodate urgent care/emergent cases on a case-by-case basis. Please call us in advance so we can direct you to the best facility in your situation.
🐾 What Constitutes an Urgent Care Visit?
Urgent care visits are for situations where your pet’s condition is important but not immediately life-threatening. Some examples include:
Minor injuries or wounds
Mild to moderate gastrointestinal issues (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea)
Urinary issues
Lameness or limping
Eye or ear concerns
Sudden changes in behavior or eating habits
Toxin Ingestion
Pain/Discomfort
🐾 What to Expect During an Urgent Care Visit:
Arrival & Check-In: When you arrive, our team will gather important information and assess your pet’s condition.
Triage: If necessary, we will triage your pet to determine the level of urgency and priority.
Waiting Time: As we see pets in the order of arrival or based on medical need, please be prepared for a potential wait.
Treatment: After a thorough examination, we’ll discuss your pet’s diagnosis and treatment plan.
We are committed to providing the highest standard of care for your beloved pet during any unexpected health concerns.
If your pet requires emergency care outside of our urgent care hours, please contact us during our business hours to determine if we can help or we can help guide you to your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.
