Dog dental care

Pet dental care, dental cleaning, and oral health are essential for overall health in dogs and cats whose teeth are not brushed on a routine schedule.  Lack of attention to a pet’s oral health can lead to gingivitis, periodontitis, bone infection, dental abscess, and tooth loss.  Besides the unpleasant odor, oral disease is painful and can lead to other diseases in a cat or dog.

Pet Oral Health Care:

  • Dental Examination
  • Routine Dental Cleaning (Prophylaxis)
  • Tartar Removal
  • Gingival & Periodontal Disease Management
  • Oral Surgery & Extractions
  • Dental Anesthesia/ Pain Management

Most dental care procedures in dogs and cats require some level of anesthesia.  All patients receive pre-anesthetic blood testing, are maintained on IV fluids, and receive continual monitoring of vital signs throughout the procedure.

When more advanced services such as digital dental x-ray and advanced dental care/endodontics are required, your pet can be readily treated at our nearby DVM Hospital group facilities: the Tribeca Soho Animal Hospital and the West Village Veterinary Hospital. Electronic medical records are used at Battery Park Veterinary Hospital, and can be shared across all DVM Hospitals. Anytime you walk into any DVM Hospital – your pet’s medical records can be immediately accessed by our professional staff.

When your pet has healthy teeth and gums, both of you end up smiling.
